KEEPING BUSY WITHOUT STRESSING!

subscribe-popup{ max-width:150pxHello my lovelies, I’m finally back to blogging! I know, it’s been months since I’ve written about a topic. Lately, I’ve been getting a few things sorted with my business, plus trying to keep consistent with the gym and also working as a part time waitress. As much as I love to keep myself busy and running all over the place, I just haven’t had the time to sit down and write. But I’ve now decided that I want to blog much more, so I need to add this into my weekly/fortnightly schedule. Just so I feel more committed. Okay, so let’s move on to the topic for this weeks blog, ‘Keeping Busy without Being Stressed to the Max!’ Now, if you know me, I am a total stresser. I stress so much over little things and sometimes it can be the worst. In school, it was so bad, I would stress over assignments and exams, even at course last year I still stressed over all of that. It’s not healthy for you at all and certainly not worth it, that’s why I’m trying to block out ...

Graduate Life | Making Connections

Networking. For me, that word immediately conjures up the image of navigating a crowded room and making polite conversation, whilst awkwardly balancing a glass of bubbly and canapés. As someone who dislikes being in a social situation with a large group of people, this sounds like my worst nightmare.  If you've been to university or attended any kind of careers talk, you will have heard people say how important networking is. You may be familiar with phrase 'it's not what you know, it's who you know' or the idea that you have to push your way into business, adding everyone who's anyone to your contact list, to get ahead in life. Swanning around careers fairs or business events trying to charm employers into believing they need me in their company just isn't my style. Well, I'm here to tell you you don't need to do that to gain valuable contacts in your industry and even secure an internship.  Thinking About Work Experience Remember my last post where...

Autumn vibes and taking a step back

Autumn vibes and taking a step back How the hell is it September? I assume there will be a point in my life that I stop treating this month like it’s the start of the year but I can’t tell if I’m still clutching onto my student days or simply have an addiction to new stationery. This time of year is my absolute favourite. It seems like the summer heatwave has dropped off the face of the Earth (thank God as being both plus size and pale af, summer is not when I’m at my peak) and we’re back to jumper but not quite winter coat weather. And I am LOVING it. I mean, is there anything better than sitting in your flat on an evening with your balcony doors open, a candle burning, wearing a hoody and watching ‘to all the boys I’ve loved before’ on Netflix? No, no there is not. A change in seasons is definitely what I need right now as the last few months have been very busy, pretty damn stressful and in all honesty, not that cheery for me, and it’s taken me until now to pick up my metaphorical ...

My Hair Journey Series: Hair Care Tools

Image
Hi! And welcome back to Lolly’s Secrets! If you are like me, you just want to look good and feel good to yourself. And although I struggle with eating healthy and being a “normal” size, my hair is something I feel I can work at and see results. In this post, I want us to talk about the different hair tools that we need when taking care of our hair. If you don’t know, I recently went fully natural and I decided I wanted to take care of my natural hair as best I can. If you want to know more, have a read on this post . For me to take care of my hair, there are tools that are essential in making this process as efficient as possible without damaging the hair in the process. Lets jump right into them! Wide Tooth Comb The first tool that every proud naturalista needs is a wide tooth comb. I have so many different types! I think I am a hoarder...low key! I just like having multiple of the same thing in case something happens like...the comb breaking!!! Yes!! It has happened to me before! And...
